I have been invited to be a guest speaker at the Fun Knits Spring Knitting Retreat in April. How exciting is that?! I’ll be talking about how I became a knitwear designer, designing children’s clothes and what inspires me.

My baby lost his first baby tooth! He had it for just over 5 1/2 yrs. Boy that time sure does go fast!
I’ve been working away on the Peacock shop sample using hand-painted yarns and I’m really happy with the results.
Annie’s Thanks
I just received an email from Annie of Annie’s Mittens. I only know her mother and I have never met Annie but as I mentioned before, my knitting guild makes mittens for Annie’s kindergarten class in New York every year because these little kids don’t have much and it’s our way of helping out.
Yes sir, yes sir
Three Bags Full, one of my LYSs is now carrying my patterns! Three Bags Full specializes in gorgeous natural fibres, often hand dyed. They don’t carry the conventional self-patterning yarns and therefore weren’t carrying my patterns to date.

Glove Twins

Gloves, Gloves
I’ve been knitting extra pairs of the Guess Who? gloves for a couple of friends of mine who are oh so deserving. Mechelle has been a great help with photographing my designs.
They’re here!
Just in time to whip a quick Christmas present or two off your needles …

I love these gloves!
Some LYSs in Calgary
As I mentioned before, my friend Marje took the morning off of work to drive me to a couple of yarn shops in Calgary. It sure beat taking the bus around town!
On Thursday morning we visited Knit One Chat Too which has renovated since the last time I was there.
I made it!
I finally received my invitation to join Ravelry and I’m part of the community now! The wait wasn’t nearly as long as I thought it was going to be (just over a month).
Tangled mess of ends
Last night I sewed in a lot of ends. Fingers and thumbs for two pairs of gloves, plus colour changes makes 56 ends. Yikes! The sample gloves are for my new pattern and now I just have to wait for a non-rainy day to take the photographs.
