We went to a Paralympics sledge hockey game on the weekend. What fun! Japan beat the Czech Republic 2 to 1.

I managed to knit about 4″ on the back of a baby sweater I’m making for a friend.

I’m trying to teach my daughter to not always have an excuse for when something goes wrong. I emphasize accepting responsibility for one’s own actions. I need to model that behavior. Sooo … it’s been a while, and I apologize for the silence.

Beaded Beginnings

I’ve started a Christmas gift for my son’s teacher. My deadline is Friday since that’s the last day of school before the Christmas break. I’m knitting my new lacey scarf pattern called Beaded Beauty.

Is it too late?

I’m mentally starting a Christmas gift knitting list in my head. I know, I know, there’s not much time left—10 days to be exact. We’ll see how much happens. I plan to do some heavy duty knitting in the next little bit.

Koigu Ruby

There are alternatives to using self-patterning yarns in my designs. Handpainted yarns look wonderful. I just finished my latest Ruby and I’m loving it.

New Patterns

We’re giving a couple of favourite early patterns a new lease on life. Both Tobie’s Mittens (originally called Self-Patterning Mittens) and Cuffs were published in the Accord Knitting Pattern-A-Day calendars a few years back.

Sample Knitting

I’ve agreed to knit several samples for some local yarn shops in Vancouver. Just check out the lovely handpainted yarns I get to work with!

Pretty as a Peacock

Beryl just send me pictures of her adorable granddaughter Ava modeling her new Peacock sweater.
