The secret project for One Planet Yarn and Fiber is out the door and has been received by the One Planet people. This is an excerpt from the email I received earlier this week:
Just wanted to let you know I received the sample [garment] yesterday.

I’m teaching a gloves workshop at an upcoming Guild event on April 12th. If you’re in the Vancouver area and want a personal lesson on knitting the Guess Who?
I made a quick trip down to Dressew today. Anyone in the Vancouver area probably knows about this amazing store. It’s like the liquidation centre of all things sewing. They also have buttons, ribbons, trims, zippers, supplies, equipment, some craft items, and in recent years with the boom in the knitting industry some novelty yarn and knitting needles.
I have been invited to be a guest speaker at the Fun Knits Spring Knitting Retreat in April. How exciting is that?! I’ll be talking about how I became a knitwear designer, designing children’s clothes and what inspires me.
Look at those beautiful spirals of curling knitted fabric soaking in the sink – they look like a bouquet of posies. My secret One Planet Yarns project is drawing to a close.
I’ve been working away on my secret project for One Planet. There has been a lot of knitting and reknitting going on around here. The yarn is very different from what I’ve been designing with lately so there’s a learning curve attached.
My baby lost his first baby tooth! He had it for just over 5 1/2 yrs. Boy that time sure does go fast!
I’ve been working away on the Peacock shop sample using hand-painted yarns and I’m really happy with the results.
Last weekend I traveled to Victoria and spent the whole time attending five Sally Melville workshops. It was such a great birthday present from my husband. I’m so pumped up with all the new information we covered.
Yesterday Canada Post arrived with a parcel of yarn from One Planet Yarn and Fiber. I’m working on a secret project for them and it’s great to get the yarn in my hands so I can finalise the details.
I just received an email from Annie of Annie’s Mittens. I only know her mother and I have never met Annie but as I mentioned before, my knitting guild makes mittens for Annie’s kindergarten class in New York every year because these little kids don’t have much and it’s our way of helping out.
