Pretty as a Peacock

Beryl just send me pictures of her adorable granddaughter Ava modeling her new Peacock sweater.

Three days before Christmas last year Beryl emailed me asking for advice on seaming.

Hallowe’en is a big deal around here; especially because Hana’s birthday is just two days before. It gets busy with parties and baking and events that all need to be fit in. This year I think I baked two birthday cakes (for separate parties), a batch of birthday cupcakes to share with classmates, and more cupcakes for the annual charity bake sale at Rod’s office.

Sock Monkey

My little monkey dressed up as a sock monkey for Hallowe’en today at school. I have to admit, I’m really proud of her costume.

I made it out of seven pairs of work socks and I got the idea at Instructables.

Skullaclava

I whipped up a special Hallowe’en balaclava for Hana to wear now that the weather’s cooler. I stumbled across the instructions for this on an unlikely site called Instructables. There are all sorts of great ideas on that site for the DIY kind of person.

Caz, from Australia made this beautiful sweater modeled by her adorable grand-daughter. She used Regia Silk Color paired with an Australian merino wool.

Missing …

… and feared lost. We’re still in an upheaval from our move. Boy, it’s a lot of work, isn’t it! I cannot find my workshop samples.

Honest

I have been knitting! When I realised that one of my vendors, Simply Socks Yarn Company was going to be at Sock Summit, I approached her about displaying some of my samples.
