My rubber boots have sprung a leak. This is a problem in rainy Vancouver.

I found these shiny red patent leather rain boots on sale on the weekend.

I know, Christmas is long over, but I wanted to show you the gifts I knit for my two neices. I must confess, I was a little behind with my Christmas knitting and the girls finally got them for Chinese New Year.

Collar Construction

I don’t knit for myself very often any longer. In part it’s because designing and the business takes much of my time. When I do knit for myself, I like to learn or try something new.

Knitterly Welcome

I bought a door mat from Lantern Moon when I was at Sock Summit. I know, it’s an odd thing to buy at a knitting retreat, but it has balls of yarn on it!

Local Workshops

I would like to invite you ‘locals’ to join me for a couple of workshops presented by the West Coast Knitters’ Guild. There will be other instructors and workshops throughout the weekend of May 1 and 2.

I was so eager to finish my Miss BB now that I have acquired the final ball of yarn that I wasn’t paying attention. While I was insetting the second sleeve I discovered that the right sweater front armhole is too long.

I’ve discovered that if I don’t choose projects that will coordinate with my wardrobe, then I never wear them. Seems so obvious yet it took me years to figure that out! Do you have sweaters in your drawer that never see the light of day?

To the rescue

I ran out of yarn and Heidi, by way of Ravelry came to the rescue. I’ve been knitting a Chicknits sweater for myself with some yarn I purchased at Dressew. I did calculate the yardage before purchasing the yarn, but I ran out anyway and Dressew has run out of the colour.

The Next Generation

I’ve been busy this winter teaching fibre arts noon-hour programs to elementary school aged children. I taught two classes (knitting and crochet) at my son’s school and I picked up a crochet class at a new school, Emily Carr Elementary.
