Substitution Notes
Look for a Bulky weight yarn meant to knit up at 3-3.75 sts = 1” (2.5 cm) on 6-8mm (US 10-11) needles. A lofty wool or wool blend makes a great choice so the weight of the yarn doesn’t stretch out the gauge too much. Two strands of a sport weight yarn held together would probably work, but you would need to swatch to be sure.
Gauge
15.5 sts and 26.5 rows = 4” (10 cm) in Slip Rib Pattern on largest needle, blocked.
