Sunday Find – Shelter

Wholesome is the word I would use to describe a new yarn called Shelter.

Jared Flood of Brooklyn Tweed fame developed Shelter out of a desire for locally produced American yarn for American knitters. The lofty soft yarn is made from Wyoming sheep fleece and it’s spun in an historic woolen mill town in New Hampshire.

The down to earth colours are a tweedy, heathery, homey goodness with names like woodsmoke, wool socks and homemade jam.

What would a new yarn be without pattern support? Jared has several patterns available for this two-ply worsted weight wool.

Shelter is available in select shops across the United States and for the rest of us including Canadian shoppers it can be purchased online. If you have a chance to see it in person, let me know what you think of it.
