Shozo Socks
Hana has new socks in yellows and golds—her favourite colours.

I test knit Shozo, a pattern written by Nigel, my step-father. It’s toe up with a great method for working the gusset, heel turn and even the heel “flap” looks like a conventional top-down sock. He introduced me to a new stretchy bind-off which is by far an improvement over what I had been using.

Nigel is currently galavanting around the world (he’s in Panama right now), but when he returns I’ll have to encourage him to give his pattern the final polish so it can go out into the real world.

Thank you so much, Holli, for the shout out. The direct link to your interview is: http://sweatercursed.blogspot.com/2011/02/please-meet-knitwear-designer-holli.html
Hi Holli, I´m glad to see the socks on Devan´s feet. They look great! And it´s the first time we´ve seen him since he´s been wearing glasses. He looks very sharp. And we are now hanging out in Puerto Vallarta Mexico but about to head down the coast to La Manzanilla and Melaque.
Devan’s especially pleased to wear these socks because not only did his Mama knit them, his Poppy designed them.
Great socks and article.
