Construction

This sock is knit flat, on two needles, from cuff to cuff. The front leg, foot, and back leg feature intarsia diamonds. The sole of the foot, short-row toe, and heel are knit in solid, contrasting colours. Matching cast-on and bind-off methods are used. A crocheted slip stitch side seam in a contrasting colour joins and finishes off the sock.

Substitution Notes

This can be a fun stash busting project using yarns from different brands, being sure they are all sock weight. Look for wool blends with some nylon, mohair or silk for strength and a tight twist and multiple plies for a sock that will last.
