Substitution Notes

Choose a smooth, heavy worsted weight yarn in solid colours. Original is 100% wool that works up at 4.5 to 5 sts per inch (2.5 cm) on 4 to 5 mm (US 6-8) needles. Wools and wool blends will substitute well. Plant fibre blends and acrylics may also work well. The best way to know is to swatch!

Knit Picks Wool of the Andes would be the perfect substitution for this now discontinued yarn.

Gauge

20 sts and 28 rows = 4 ins / 10 cm over Stockinette stitch using larger needles, blocked.

Needles + Notions

3.5 & 3.75 mm (US 4 & 5) Needles;
