Construction
These mittens are worked from cuff to tip with an afterthought style thumb. You have the option to make fingerless or full mittens. Don’t the stitch pattern scare you away; only one colour is worked at a time in a tuck stitch technique.

Sizes: Toddler, (Child, Preteen, Adult S, M, L, XL).
Finished hand circumference: 4 ½ (5 ¼, 6 ¼, 7, 8, 8 ¾, 9 ¾)” / 10 (12, 14, 16, 17, 19, 21) cm.
Hand length: 4 (5 ¼, 6 ½, 7 ¼, 7 ½, 8 ¼, 8 ¾)” / 10 (13, 16, 18, 19, 20.5, 22) cm.
Yarn
Main colour is worsted weight. Contrasting coloured dots are worked with a double strand of DK weight which may be substituted with worsted weight.
Main Colour (worsted) 54 (74, 104, 125, 140, 188, 214) yd / 50 (68, 96, 115, 129, 172, 196) m;
4 x Contrasting Colours (DK weight held double) 16 (19, 21, 36, 41, 45, 50) yd/15 (18, 20, 33, 38, 42, 46) m.
If using one contrasting colour only for the dots: 40 (56, 84, 108, 122, 150, 166) yd / 37 (52, 77, 99, 112, 138, 152) m DK weight yarn held double.
Each row of dots takes 4 (4.5, 5.5, 6, 7, 7.5, 8.5) yd / 4 (5, 6, 6, 7, 7, 8) m (one row of dots/one mitten) DK weight yarn held double.
Substitution Notes
The mittens are worked at a worsted weight gauge. Choose a yarn with some wool content for warmth. The colourful dots are worked holding 2 strands of DK together, but 2 strands of fingering weight or 1 strand of worsted weight could be substituted. This is a great stash buster project to use up all those little remnants.
Gauge
16 sts and 24 rnds = 4” (10 cm) over stocking stitch in the round with worsted weight yarn.

4.5 mm (US 7) Needles for working a small circumference in the round;
