New Moon Studio: Porcelain Pomegranate
I’ve been partial to pomegranates ever since I was a child visiting Dominica in the Carribean with my family. I loved picking the little seeds out and eating them one by one.

I’m just loving working with Sandnes Mini Palett (colourway 0964). It’s one of the yarns I picked up to swatch for my next series of designs. The colours flow through the ball in slow colour shifts and it’s mesmerizing.
I lost all my workshop samples during our move last Fall. I kept on hoping the bag of samples would turn up under a pile of boxes. No such luck.
So now I’m reknitting intarsia samples for my workshop this weekend with the West Coast Knitters’ Guild.
I bought a pair of machine-knit socks made with Regia’s Kaffe Fassett Exotic, colourway Ember.
I popped into Dressew today to see if they’ve had a new shipment of discount yarn.
We went to a Paralympics sledge hockey game on the weekend. What fun! Japan beat the Czech Republic 2 to 1.
I managed to knit about 4″ on the back of a baby sweater I’m making for a friend.
I’ve agreed to knit several samples for some local yarn shops in Vancouver. Just check out the lovely handpainted yarns I get to work with!
From left to right: Koigu KPM and KPPPM, Koigu KPM and Lorna’s Laces Shepherd Sock (Devon), Dream in Color Smooshy (Shiny Moss) and Cherry Tree Hill Supersock Select (Misty Moor).

Where or where can it be?? I can’t find the yarn I so neatly washed and reskeined to complete my Tangled Yoke sleeve. I must have put it “away” when I tidied up a bit before company came over.
I needed a portable project to take to Hana’s skating class yesterday …
My sock yarn collection is growing (like you couldn’t have guessed that) and I’ve been wanting to try out Colinette’s Jitterbug.
I had time to take in a couple of workshops while I was at the knitting retreat on Quadra Island. Truely, what’s a knitting retreat without a workshop, right? Judy MacLean of Sweatermaker Yarns creates beautiful hand-painted skeins of indulgence.
I can’t believe the time is going so quickly. A week ago I went to the Fibrefest International with Carmen and Nigel. Nigel made the arrangements with me while he was in his last weeks of a 4-month-long trip to India with my Dad.
