Knit City Recap
What an exciting, exhiliarating, exhausting weekend! I’m still high on the fumes of fibre and the contagious excitement that was all around me.

I’ve been knitting my little fingers to the bone to get ready for a whole series of knitting workshops at River City Yarns in Edmonton starting next week.
When we moved 1 1/2 years ago, you may recall that all of my workshop samples went missing.

I’ll be teaching knitting workshops at River City Yarns in Edmonton this summer at the end of July and beginning of August.
In order to offer their customers the right mix of classes, RCY has asked them for feedback.

Another crop of crafters are well on their way to finding their true passion. Noon-hour classes at my son’s elementary school have been keeping me busy.
My 7 and 8-yr-old knitters just love the sparkly knitting needles I made for them out of double-pointed needles.

Noon-hour classes at Hana’s school have been taking up much of my time and energy. I’m teaching knitting, crochet and jewellery classes four times a week.
It’s terrific to see the kids being creative but it has been cutting into my creativity time.

I’m teaching a whole series of workshops at River City Yarns in Edmonton starting next week. There are classes almost every day for two weeks running from August 17th to August 28th at both of their locations.

It’s so rewarding teaching needlecrafts to kids. The school year is almost over and I’ve just finished up the classes. Interestingly the crochet classes were the most popular.
We crocheted slippers (for which I don’t have a picture!), hearts, Valentine envelopes, hacky sacs and critters.

Had a great workshop today with some of the Guild ladies. They asked some really great questions and I’m always so happy to share my knowledge.
I recreated several intarsia samples that were lost during our move last fall.

… you to Jeff Joey Jr and Miss Kitty. The girls in my crochet class this time around are real characters. I designed a dog for them to crochet and adapted a LionBrand cat stuffy.

I would like to invite you ‘locals’ to join me for a couple of workshops presented by the West Coast Knitters’ Guild. There will be other instructors and workshops throughout the weekend of May 1 and 2.
