I’m still working on the second sock of Cat Bordhi’s pattern, Bartholomew’s Tantalizing Socks. The first sock was completed along with several other single socks for my workshop last weekend where I taught the sky sock architecture from Cat’s book, New Pathways for Sock Knitters.

The Fashion Forecast is Grey
I’ve been working on a nice, basic grey cardigan for the past while. I started it in the summer on one of our vacations and it’s a good mindless travel/t.v. knit. The exciting part is soon to come though.
Link updates
Apologies to those who subscribe with an RRS feed aggregator. I’ve been updating the broken links on my blog so that they point to the new website. You’ll have a lot of blog posts you’ve already seen piled up in your aggregator.

Pile of sweaters
I was so busy assembling kits, dealing with last minute details (like buying a second-hand tent) and knitting furiously before the Victoria Knit-Out that I didn’t have a chance to share with you the final specs on some of the samples I finished (and didn’t finish ;-)) for the weekend.

No Straights for Me
I hadn’t really realised it, but I’ve been knitting with circular needles almost exclusively for a few years now. I love my Addi Turbos. That’s all fine and dandy until I can’t find the right sized circular needle in my stash.
Eye heart ewe
Just because he loves me, my little fibre-conscious boy gave me a love note.
I received another lovely gift recently. Nigel knit a pair of socks for me in some lovely soft merino dyed by Sweet Georgia before she went on her hiatus.

What is Standard?
I’m very confused about standard sizes for kids’ sweater patterns. For my most recent design, I decided I would dutifully follow the recommendations by the Craft Yarn Council of America. Indie designers are definitely encouraged to follow the guidelines for their self-published patterns.
Guild workshops
It’s been a busy knitty time for me lately. Our Guild had a great day of workshops the weekend after Quadra Island. I taught my glove workshop in the morning and we had a lot of fun with it.
Magical knitting effects
A quick post as I’m madly getting ready to go the the Spring Knitting Retreat on Quadra Island. Look at the cherry trees across the street on that crazy snowy day the other day.
Spring?
It’s snowing this morning in Vancouver. I’m just going to hunker down in front of the fire with a good cup of coffee and work on some samples for my upcoming trip to Quadra Island.
