I’m on Cloud Nine! I’ve been working long and hard to have Susanna Hansson come to Vancouver to give a workshop to our Guild. First we had challenges over the venue and we found a really affordable location at the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition.
knitterly events
Victoria Fibre Goodness
Last weekend I attended the Victoria Fibre Festival and Knit-Out. Nigel and I took the ferry to Victoria and had a lovely weekend of knitting and fibre-related events.
WWKIP
Saturday was World Wide Knit in Public day. Hana (with her knitting spool), Nigel and I ventured out to the grassy area adjacent to Kits beach to participate. I was surprised at how few knitters I knew at the event.

No Straights for Me
I hadn’t really realised it, but I’ve been knitting with circular needles almost exclusively for a few years now. I love my Addi Turbos. That’s all fine and dandy until I can’t find the right sized circular needle in my stash.
Guild workshops
It’s been a busy knitty time for me lately. Our Guild had a great day of workshops the weekend after Quadra Island. I taught my glove workshop in the morning and we had a lot of fun with it.
Hand dyeing workshop
I had time to take in a couple of workshops while I was at the knitting retreat on Quadra Island. Truely, what’s a knitting retreat without a workshop, right? Judy MacLean of Sweatermaker Yarns creates beautiful hand-painted skeins of indulgence.
Magical knitting effects
A quick post as I’m madly getting ready to go the the Spring Knitting Retreat on Quadra Island. Look at the cherry trees across the street on that crazy snowy day the other day.
Spring?
It’s snowing this morning in Vancouver. I’m just going to hunker down in front of the fire with a good cup of coffee and work on some samples for my upcoming trip to Quadra Island.
