Warm up your knitting fingers and flex your yarnie muscles. It’s that time of year when we make the mad dash to add just one more knitted gift to our list of projects to complete before the big day.

Compatto Yarn Salon, Santa Monica
I’ll be visiting Compatto Yarn Salon in Santa Monica, California next week. The Tempest trunk show is traveling with me and I’ll be signing books as well as chatting about the designs and techniques in the book.

Tempest, the Book
For the past several months I’ve been deeply immersed in an exciting project. Felicia Lo, of SweetGeorgia Yarns and I have collaborated together to publish a book!
Inspired by the idea of the Tempest.

#tempestknit
I’ve been hard at work this year collaborating with Felicia Lo of SweetGeorgia Yarns on a book! Tempest is a collection of 11 patterns, all designed by me with SweetGeorgia Yarns.

Short-Row Stripes Blanket
I love how short rows can create undulating lines when worked in stripes; it’s fun to design using short rows.
I have a blanket pattern in the spring issue of Knit Simple that makes great use out of short rows.
Kits Exclusive
Wet Coast Wools in Vancouver is exclusively carrying kits of my patterns. The selection is limited and as kits are sold, new ones will be made available. Check them out soon and check back often for the best selection.

Design Submission
I’ve included my original submission so you can see what the editors looked at when they made their selection for the book.
Travel Knitting
We went to France for spring break so there hasn’t been too much knitting happening around here.
I carefully planned a project for the trip—the Pinkerton shawl from Interweave Knits Spring 2011.
Epic Yarn
My little girl loves video games—what 8-yr-old doesn’t? Here’s one I think I could get into. Just watch the trailer and see if you’re not intrigued.
Hana’s comments when I showed her the video:
That’s really cute!
