Just received a package in the mail containing yarn – yipee! It’s called tvyarn and is handpainted by Jana of White Oak Studio.
The colourways for her hand painted yarn are inspired by the shows she watches on television while she knits.

Hopping down the bunny trail
Finished and successful – even the felting part didn’t cause me any problems. They’re cute as a trio – it’s such a shame to split them up. Our Easter guests had fun with their little Easter egg hunt and the Schmeebot bunnies helped out by hanging onto their baskets and overseeing the hunters.
Schmeebot
Easter is coming and I had this last minute idea to knit some bunnies for my little bunny and his cousins’ Easter baskets. The Schmeebot bunny piqued my interest quite a while back and now I have a reason to knit it!
Movement patterns
In preparation for a little presentation to my Guild tomorrow night, I’m going through my swatches and notes for a workshop I teach, Strategies for Knitting with Self-Patterning Sock Yarns. Some of my favourite stitch patterns to use with self-patterning sock yarns are what I call movement stitches.
Back to the drawing board
Hmm, my watery, wavy sock design just isn’t fitting the bill for me. While I think parts of it are interesting – I like that the lozenge shaped repeat isn’t repeating predictably around the sock.
Itchy fingers
Not in the literal sense. I’ve really been wanting a mindless knit. I love knitting someone else’s designs because I don’t have to figure out stitch counts or calculate the rate of decrease for raglans or any of those things.
That was fast
I placed an order with Elann on Wednesday. This is the first time I’ve ordered with them although I’ve often looked. I’m looking for a standard DK weight yarn for a design and want to experiment with the Rowan Pure Wool DK.
Who me? Design a sock?
So I started a new computer sock the other day and after a good solid 2 inch ribbed cuff I took a good look at what I had so far. The striping pattern of the Regia self-patterning yarn seemed pretty uninspired.
Partly Cloudy

Computer sock
I like to have a simple stocking stitch sock on the needles and I keep it beside my computer. When I’m reading blogs or email or waiting for pages to load I pick it up and knit a few more stitches.
