I worked for a number of years as a jeweller and jewellery instructor after graduating from art college. While I love knitting, at times I do miss working with metal. I can sometimes fill that need by looking at what other jewellers are making.
I’m teaching a whole series of workshops at River City Yarns in Edmonton starting next week. There are classes almost every day for two weeks running from August 17th to August 28th at both of their locations.
Even though Hana is no longer a little girl, I still like to browse the picture book shelves when we visit the library.
Sometimes I turn up real treasures.

After much swatching last week, I came up with a solution for the sleeve cuffs on the triangle sweater that makes me happy. I modified another design embellishment borrowed from Andean Folk Knitting.
I love having the opportunity to meet knitters face to face and I especially enjoy receiving feedback on my patterns in person. Next month I’ll have that opportunity because I’m participating in the Surrey Museum’s Pic-Knit event.
New Moon Studio: Porcelain Pomegranate
