Well, look at that! I just found out that my design made the cover of Designer Knitting in the UK. In North America, the magazine is known as Vogue Knitting and always has a different cover.
My Oversized Cowl is in both publications and it’s a staple that should be in every knitter’s wardrobe. The cowl is knit flat in a sumptuously textured rickrack ribbing pattern. The cowl is generously sized to be a real statement piece and keep you cozy warm when the wind starts blowing.
It sports a reverse stockinette stitch rolled edging that looks like i-cord. In fact, they’ve mistakenly written it up in the description. This edging is ever so much simpler to achieve for the same look.
I’ve created an interesting way to join the two ends which is a cross between a pick up and knit and a three-needle bind off that takes the stitch pattern into consideration. While not completely invisible, for those who don’t like to sew, it’s a great alternative.
