Disney Security Stricter than Airlines’

Sleeping Beauty Castle

It was high time for a little R&R for our family. Disneyland, baby!

Our first day was a lesson in lineups. I love this shot of Devan waiting on Mickey’s head while Rod (in the fedora) lines up for tickets.

I tried to bring my knitting with me so I would have something to do while in the lineups. Disney security zeroed right in on my five metal, 2.25 mm (US 1) double-pointed needles. She called a head security person over who asked if they were plastic. I felt like lying. I then did some fast talking and said that I was allowed to take them on the airplane. I also swore I would not to take them out of my bag and I promised not to bring them back the next day. I guess I have an honest face, because the kindly security woman let me through. Let that be a lesson though-no tiny, sharp, metal knitting needles in Disneyland!
