If you want to take a workshop from Holli in your city, let your local Guild or LYS know! I love traveling to different cities to meet knitters, teach them new skills and give them the confidence to tackle their next big project.
I’m teaching a series of workshops that cover the ins and outs of transforming your projects from ‘home made’ to ‘hand knit.’ You’ve spent all that time knitting a beautiful garment, now don’t skimp on the finishing. You’ll learn finishing techniques that rival commercially made garments and you’ll have the confidence to tackle sweater projects.
Three stand-alone workshops, two hours each. You can take one of them, or all of them.
Finally! A foolproof way to attach a zipper onto handknitted fabric without any warping or buckling. You’ll love it!
We’re just polishing up the final details. There will be workshops on Friday evening, all day Saturday and all day Sunday. Workshops will include Fine Finishing Techniques and classes on getting started with my Feather Cardigan Wrap and Trade Blanket Mittens patterns.
Tackle the intricacies of intarsia to add blocks and motifs of colour to your knitting. You’ll learn all the basics including joining colours, avoiding holes, managing all those ends and tangles, and reading graphs. We’ll also cover tension issues. There is nothing to fear and by the end of the workshop, you’ll have the confidence to work with colour.
Learn several methods for working short rows and see how they compare so you can decide on your favourite method. You’ll learn six different ways to work short rows including the wrap and turn and Japanese short row methods.
We’ll meet once a week and tackle your choice of sweater pattern. Let me help you get started and customize my lessons to your needs.
Fine Finishing Techniques and Tip Toe Up Socks are both on the roster for this new fibre festival in the Kootenays.
I’ll also have a table at the marketplace where you’ll find my patterns and some of my favourite notions.
So looking forward to another fabulous weekend at Knit City! We’ll have patterns, a well-considered selection of notions, and demonstrations. I’m also cooking up some new ideas for Knit City so be sure to stop by the booth and say hello.
